 Design caching of views

Tomas NielsenPost date: 2007-06-02 16:56

Has anyone had any troubles with views that you update but the resulting view still shows the same on the web?

I have had this a couple of times on the site and a total restart of the server usually resolves it (http restart does not).

Maybe this is a beta 2 issue. I should upgrade soon anyway.

Have you done: http restart OR tell http quit/load? Somethings doesn't work rigt if you use HTTP restart. Substitution/Redirection rules require that you quit and load, for instance (If my memore serves me correctly).

dbcache flush on the server? Shouldn't play a part but it can resolve strange stuff.

Clear cache of the browser. Oldie, but goldie.. ;)

On a sidenote: You've probably already seen but theres a new Beta for IEDeveloperBar. Not neraly as good as FireBug for FF, but better then nothing.

In both you have the ability to easily toogle Cache on and off.

I tested with "tell http restart". I am positive it was not a web browser cache thing. I could add documents to the view - it just behaved as if I had not changed the view design (but I had).

I have only observed this in the 8 beta 2 version never before. It seems to happen when the server has run for a long time without restart (2 weeks or more).

I must say firebug is a personal favorite too!
