I usually never code anything in Dominos predefined webareas, like the JS Header. I prefer to do all the HTML code manually, for a lot of reasons...

 

One of the reasons is that often changes doesn't take(!). Like now: I've done a change in the JS Header but Domino totally ignores the change.

I've:

• dbcache flush
• quit/load the HTTP-task.

Same problem....

JS Header is the most frequent abuser, or maybe it's because that's the place I usually do changes... A quick test reveals that changes in "HTML Head Content" & "HTML Body Attributes" is honored, but NOT changes in the JS Header....

 

Am I missing something obvious? Surely hope so because this behaviour is consistent among many different environments I've worked on.

I have not experienced the symptom you are describing on a regular basis and I do use JS Header quite a lot for local scripts. (I do agree a separate library with some heavy caching is the best way for more general scripts.)

There is sometimes some confusion around the Run Client/Web. I usually have Client empty and have everything in Web to avoid mistakes.

 

In later Domino versions I have experienced some extreme caching of design objects that required a complete restart of the server but it might be a beta thing: Design caching of views
