 Moving or reinstalling a server

I have recently moved all my servers to a new server and done some virtualization (sorry if any of you noticed the down time) and found this little gem on IBM's site:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21087009

It has recently been revised and although it says it works for version 7 I have tried it with 8.0.1 without problems.
I am still amazed how easy it is to move a server! It is also nice to do a clean install to make sure no old files clutter up your file system.

I have some small things to add to the list:

- Move all your files from the html directory
- Servlet directory if you use it
- Java security configurations if you use it.

Yeah, not bad.

I love to always reinstall from scratch. Especially when moving onto a new Major release (i.e from 7.x to 8)

Fortunatly when you move servers most settings can be quite easy to find in the nab (if your an experienced administrator) or in the notes.ini especially if you change directories.
